Chile quake and tsunami

Just heard about todays 8.8 magnitude earthquake offshore Chile and that a pan-Pacific tsunami has been generated. A tsunami about 1.2 m high has been recorded coming ashore in Chile, but it's yet to reach Hawaii.

About this Network ...

This network has been set up to encourage University students from any discipline who are undertaking research into any aspect of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami to come together to share their research and experience. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are welcome to contribute from anywhere in the World. It is also hoped that University tutors will also contribute to help steer and inform the development of the community.

It is hoped that communication here may develop into collaborative research between students, and that some of this research might be published. Indeed, this project has funding to publish a Special Issue or a Book of collected student papers in 2011.
